A week as intense as it was satisfying has come to a close, successfully intertwining the science of exoplanets with the city of Granada. The HoRS3S conference was packed with high-level presentations and vibrant exchanges of ideas among scientists from over twenty countries, all set against an incomparable backdrop.

The THIRSTEE team participated actively throughout the week. PI Rafael Luque took on the role of chair within the HoRS3S organizing committee, while PhD students Yue Yu and Pierrot Lamontagne had the opportunity to present their scientific posters to the event’s attendees.

HoRS3S was made possible thanks to the hard work of the organizing committee members, the steadfast support of the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia, the University and the City Council of Granada—and, above all, Fernando and Carmen from Baobab Eventos. The result has been excellent, demonstrating that science can be—and is—a living and essential part of a city as alluring as Granada.

Beyond the sessions, researchers enjoyed the facilities at the School of Architecture, took night tours of the Alhambra, and savored a dinner in the Albaicín with views of one of the world’s most iconic skylines. Today, they conclude the experience by exploring the impressive Granada Geopark and the Los Coloraos Astronomical Complex.

In 2028, the exoplanet community will celebrate the 10th anniversary of HoRS3S by returning to Nice, where it all began.
